the print about the print
giclée (zhee-clay) n. a type of digital fine-art print; a giclée is a multiple print or exact copy of an original work of art that was created by conventional means (in the case of this project a "film negative" was the conventional means used) and then reproduced digitally, typically via inkjet printing.
the term : "giclee print" connotes an elevation in printmaking technology. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality inks onto various substrates including canvas, fine art, and photo-base paper. the giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction.
the quality : the quality of the giclee print rivals traditional silver-halide and gelatin printing processes and is commonly found in museums, art galleries, and photographic galleries.
all of the work in this project is printed on a smooth & beautiful hahnemuhle baryta based paper. standard size is 13"X"19". I leave a minimum of at least one inch white border around the image. any paper or ink is evaluated in terms of its archival results. all prints are signed and dated in pencil au verso and also ink au recto, by request.
